What you’ll be doing……

You’ll be hands-on working in both operational and project environments to continually develop the security that protect the Group’s network including telephony, computer systems and cloud services. You will actively perform security testing across the landscape, treating vulnerabilities at a technical level and managing incidents as they are identified.

What a typical working day looks like….


  • Develop and maintain monitoring systems as the infrastructure expands and new threats emerge, capturing alerts and treating incidents as they occur.  


  • Develop annual test plans and carry out security testing using industry standard techniques and by taking targeted expertise from specialist partners.  


  • Support development teams to embed good security practices when designing and changing systems to reduce risk of breaches occurring and by containing them when they emerge.  


  • Identify, interpret and treat incidents and vulnerabilities across network and telephony, Servers and Storage, Workstations, and cloud systems. Continually self-educate yourself and the teams on these technologies and the threats they hold.  


  • Produce management reports, collating and using data from various sources interpreting the information into business impact.  
  • Provide advice and guidance on information security legislation and guiding principle for internal processes and when engaging with suppliers.  


  • Being part of projects from the outset embed security into the design ensuring controls remain when transitioned to production.


  • Any ad-hoc reasonable management request to support the IT department and business.








What you’ll need on your CV…

·  Degree in a I.T. related subject or equivalent experience preferably focused on security or comparable industry practices.

· Must have experience in Cisco networks, Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems; can be obtained as part of the degree course.

· An understanding of GDPR, DPA and PCI DSS.

· Driven to provide a balance between security and operational needs.

· Good communicator being self-motivated and have a team player attitude.

· Proven capacity to capture detail and delivering to deadlines.

· Can do attitude taking personal responsibility for driving appropriate security.

· Licensed to drive in the UK as they may be required to visit other locations.
