About this Opportunity

  • Assist the Store Manager in reducing Waste & Shrink (cash and stock) through excellent compliance to the ‘Serious about Shrink’ process.
  • Continuously deliver, improve and seek to maintain compliance with stock management.
  • Pro-actively deter or help customers who are demonstrating poor shopping processes.
  • Support the store management team with Serious Store Incidents
  • Engage with customers in a professional and friendly manner, offering assistance where appropriate to promote a positive sales culture.
  • Provide a deterrent to unusual or suspect customer shopping behaviour.
  • Liaise with Law enforcement agency’s (Police, PCSO’s) to promote a positive working relationship on criminal activity in store.
  • Act as an ambassador for improving store performance on Shrink, waste, cash loss and Sales

About You

  • Good verbal and numeracy skills, able to understand checklists and contribute to store action plans.
  • A basic understanding of Stock Results and the corporate ‘Serious About Shrink’ checklist.
  • A basic understanding of the acronym SCONE and it impact on The Theft Act
  • Ability to stay calm and professional when faced with a high pressure situation.
  • Ability to learn, develop and use new skills in relation to store processes.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to make a difference in the role to results and store environment.  
  • Able to communicate effectively with different groups of people including colleagues, law enforcement & emergency services, customers and profit protection.
  • Committed to career development: Someone who is looking for future internal development as a member of a management team.
  • Ability to be confidential with sensitive store information.
  • Flexible to be able to support, when appropriate and necessary, other neighbouring sites with Profit Protection issues.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of dealing with customers effectively in different types of situation.
  • Knowledge of in- store shrinkage processes. E.g. how to complete a daily bookstock count.
  • Desirable, but not essential, previous experience gained supporting or working alongside profit protection/loss prevention teams.
  • SIA door license holder - desirable.
