About the opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated People Relations Manager to lead our thriving and energetic People Relations team who are passionate about fostering positive workplace relationships and championing an excellent colleague experience.

The role is hybrid with 2-3 days in our Customer Support Centre in Walsall alongside the wider People team.

Your Impact and Responsibilities...

As a People Relations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in partnering with the Leadership team to champion our People Strategy. You’ll have proven experience as a manager and provide leadership on employee relations related issues, maintain and update policies in line with legislation, drive efficiency and meet SLAs. 

  • Leading, coaching and mentoring a team of seven People Relations Advisors to deliver exceptional service and support our Retail and Head office colleagues
  • Handling complex cases with fairness, professionalism and adherence to company policies
  • Leading the delivery of an effective and efficient People Relations service provision, partnering with key stakeholders to ensure expert and proactive advice is provided
  • Implementing and communicating ER policies and procedures effectively across the business
  • Leading on the development and delivery of People Management training programmes and supporting tools to develop manager capability, culture and engagement in the workplace
  • Actively be up to date on current employment law, regulatory and HR Best proactive, applying a strategic lens to shape and advance the People Relations Strategy and People Agenda

 

Skills and Knowledge…

  • Proven experience in Employee Relations Management with a strong focus on leadership and coaching
  • Ideally be fully CIPD qualified or working toward this
  • A strong ER background. Experience in a fast-paced Retail organisation would be advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Previous experience in managing and leading an ER Advisory function spanning multiple areas of a business
  • Experience with data and metrics is important
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders utilising various approaches to successfully implement new ideas and changes to legislation
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-site Retail environment
