Poundland and Dealz are seeking a Junior Buyer to join our Commercial team. You will support the Senior Buyer in managing a designated product category, helping to ensure that we deliver exceptional value for our customers. Your Impact and Responsibilities…
As a Junior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the buying function and ensuring that we offer the best value to our customers. Your responsibilities include:
- Monitoring daily sales, margin performance, and stock availability.
- Assisting in product range planning and working closely with Merchandisers and Supply Chain.
- Managing supplier relationships and conducting negotiations.
- Handling the administration of product samples and supplier offers.
- Conducting competitor benchmarking and market research.
- Organising and attending supplier meetings, ensuring follow-ups and actions are completed.
- Supporting the implementation of new product ranges and promotions
Skills and Knowledge…
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- An eye for detail and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- A keen interest in the retail industry and some experience in buying or a related role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities.
