We’re looking for two highly organised and proactive Buying Assistants to join our FMCG team here at Poundland and Dealz head office in Walsall.
This is an exciting opportunity to support a fast-paced commercial function within one of the UK’s largest discount retailers.
You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our buying operations run smoothly delivering value, speed, and precision to help us create “amazing value every day”.

Your Impact and Responsibilities…
As a Buying Assistant, your day-to-day will be varied and rewarding.
• Deliver accurate administrative support to the Buying team, ensuring a “right first time” standard.
• Manage and maintain category data, product setups, supplier records, and critical paths.
• Assist with range management tasks, including sample coordination and competitor analysis.
• Attend supplier meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions to support relationship building.
• Use Excel and other tools to produce reports, resolve issues proactively, and support smooth operations.
Skills and Knowledge…
We’re looking for team players with strong attention to detail and a passion for retail. Ideal candidates will have:
• Experience in similar admin or retail roles preferred.
• Strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Highly organised, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Confident in liaising with suppliers and supporting cross-functional teams.
• Must have a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for occasional off-site tasks.
