We’re seeking a Senior Payroll Advisor to join our fast-paced People Services team, based in our Walsall Customer Support Centre.
In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of four-weekly and monthly payrolls across our UK and Ireland Poundland and Dealz businesses.
You’ll work collaboratively alongside a small team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our colleagues are paid correctly and on time.
You’ll bring extensive payroll knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
With your ability to stay calm under pressure, work effectively with others, and focus on delivering results, you'll be key in ensuring efficient, compliant payroll processes for Poundland & Dealz.

• Accurately process payroll for four-weekly and monthly pay cycles across Retail, Distribution and Customer Support Centre teams.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with GDPR and payroll legislation.
• Stay current on payroll best practices and share knowledge across the team.
• Perform payroll checks, manage approvals, and resolve or escalate queries within SLAs.
• Support continuous process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
• Hands-on payroll expert with full end-to-end knowledge and experience in high-volume environments
• Confident using payroll systems (e.g., Resource Link) and meeting SLAs through managed engine tools.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax codes, and GDPR compliance
• Proficient Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and formula use.
• Detail-focused, highly organised, and an effective communicator who can challenge and collaborate.
• Payroll qualification (CIPP/AAT) is ideal but not essential.
