What will I be doing?

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for supporting the Senior Supply Chain Manager in achieving business objectives, through the delivery of initiatives within the designated Trading team:

  • Achievement of KPI’s - Sales, Margin and Stock
  • Achieve stock targets set
  • Exceed availability targets
  • Leadership & development of team members

 

Key Tasks

Sales and Availability

  • Ensure optimum level of stock of ranged lines to maximise DC and Store availability
  • Support buying team range plan with Open to Buy plans and process
  • Monitor, update and report critical path progress throughout the effective life of a product to identify issues and risks and take appropriate action
  • Ensure launch availability to any changes in the range, eg promotions, seasonal and range review
  • Ensure stock is maintained at an optimum level by working on rephrasing and recommending cancellation, re-buy, delivering ‘on time’ availability
  • Liaison with Central Supply Chain and Buying team to advise on ETAs
  • Analysis of data across category and measure performance and forecast as required
  • Identify & resolve issues to maximise store order fulfilment

 

WSSI (Weekly Stock & Sales Inventory)

  • Ensure WSSI tool reflects most accurate trading position on Sales, Stock, Markdown, OTB and Margin.
  • Reforecast WSSI in light of actual performance and updated information.
  • Deliver financial KPI plan at department level (Sales, Stock and Profit)
  • Monitor and control OTB ensuring intake and commitment is accurate and strictly controlled and is in line with business expectations.
  • Monitor and manage flow of product fully utilising the supersede process to meet space and availability requirements.
  • Monitor stock targets weekly in line with forecasted budget for network pallet capacity, stock units and value

Stock Management

Range Planning

  • Range review of current performance to plan future intake
  • Break down to SKU level & develop line by line plan
  • Agree Open to Buy documentation with Buyers
  • Post trip reviews with Buyers

 

Stock Management

  • Ensure stock is maintained at an optimum level in line with targets
  • Review and plan action with Buying colleagues around any long-stocks
  • Best Before End Date management
  • Forecasting inbound pallet volumes
  • Weekly inventory meetings and clear action plans
  • Manage exit of non ranged stock with buyer
  • Maintain and review lineflows for import stock

 

Supplier Management

  • Regular supplier meetings to form collaborative working relationships
  • Supplier performance monitoring and reporting
  • Consolidation planning and understanding of minimum order quantities
  • Cross functional initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maximise supplier inbound service above targets
